I've noticed the same thing with my MI16, but it only happens after the
engine is warm and I'm in town with a lot of stop n' start driving, but
only occasionally! Upto now it hasn't concerned me.

I'd be interested in any response you receive.

Subject: 1989 405 very hard to shift manual trans

Hello all,

The gear selector on my 1989 405 Mi16 has gotten very stiff lately. All
gears seem to be affected equally. The car was always hard to shift,
but it has gotten much stiffer in the last week or so.
I feels like something may be binding. It is causing me to miss gears,
grind gears etc.

Has anyone else experienced this on any manual trans 405? I wanted to
ask the list before I go poking around.
