505 sun roof problems

I've been working on the sr of the 84 505 sedan. So far I've determined
the motor is ok, So most likely it's the cable housing or mounting of
it that's the problem. I have not taken the headliner out yet. Is
there a way to manually close the sr all the way to the up position to
keep rain from getting in?
