Could be, but I just had the same problem. One of the hoses off the fuel
rail to the fuel pressure regulator (smack dab in the middle of the engine
bay, on top) was split slightly, and spitting gas out onto the block.
Unscrewed clamp, cut off end, reattached and voila!
