Wellllll, Steve,
I am not a mechanic or pretend to like to work on cars, however, I am One
Cheap SOB and try to save a buck when possible. Here is what I did to
remove the ECU, which I believe to be the Climate Control. On the
Passenger's side of the hump remove the carpeted panel to expose the side
and gain access to the heater box. The ECU I took out was mounted to the
bottom of the heater box. There is only 3" between it and the floor boards.
I used a 1/4" drive socket with a 5/16" socket with a Phillips bit in the
socket. If you have a offset screwdriver that would work also. there are
two screws that hold it in. If need be use a mirror to see them.
As I said earlier I removed the glove box before this but if all you need
is the ECU then I don't think you will need to remove the glove box. I took
out the glove box because I wanted the gearbox that controls the flapper
for Heat / Cooling. If you want to know what I did to remove the glove box
let me know, That was a big operation.
