Hugo. STOP!!!!!!. I hope I get this to you before you connect that wire. The coil only gets three wires. On the negative side of the coil you will find one wire connected. This is wire number "3" and comes from the ignition amplifier module mounted just below the coil. No other wire gets connected here. On the plus side of the coil you will find two connectors. One has a single black wire that goes to the noise supressor. The other has two wires marked "2R" and "2B" These go to the ignition ECU ralay and the Ignition Amplifier Module respectively.

The single wire coming out of the harness is wire number "12". It is a test connection for diagnostics. It feeds directly to the Ignition and Injection ECUs. Connecting this wire to the plus side of the coil could do really bad things to the computers.

On another topic. Is your engine compartment factory original???? I'm in need of some help getting the vacuum hoses routed and connected correctly with respect to the air conditioner system.

Subject: '87 505 STX Ignition Coil connectors

All,

The ignition coil on my 505 has four male connectors. Yet there are three
wires with female connectors attached to the coil. A fourth wire attached
to a female connector coming out of wire harnass is dangling close by. I'm
assuming that this fourth wire should be attached to the coil, but just
want to double check. Should the coil have three wires connected to it? Or
four?
