Removal Of the glove box requires lots of patience. There is a screw on the
outboard side inside the glove box. There may have been others because it
looked like a previous owner tried to remove this one without success.
There is a flat metal bar on the top part of the glove box that the latch
connects to and attaches the box to the dashboard. It is attached with
rivets which need to be drilled off. Because there is only 4-5" of space a
right angle drill is required. (I did not have one, I used a 1/4" drill bit
and carefully drilled at and angle and pried the remaining portion of the
rivet off.) There is a bar at the bottom that holds the glove box up in
place. A previous owner had cut this with a saws all or hack saw on the
outboard side, enabling it to be bent down and the glove box came out. I
don't know if this is a necessary or what but it sure made the removal
easy. When I put it back together I will use a hose clamp over the cut in
the bar to hold it secure. Did someone mention a bar? Gotta go! Good Luck.
