405 clutch pedal adjustment (?)

I'm just curious. I know that it's pretty simple to adjust the position
of the clutch pedal on this car, but can it cause any problems. It's a
newer clutch (1 year), but I hate how high my foot has to be before it
engages. After a 3-hour traffic jam the other day, this became quite
abnoxious. I'm planning to move it so that it kicks in about an inch or a
little more from its present position. I think I might also be burning it
a bit due to where it is, because I don't always let my foot back enough
when I'm tearing up hills, on-ramps, etc.
