I've seen that it takes a great deal of TIME to make
a Turbo run the way it is supposed to. Sometimes, an
old-school Bosch tech will play with the mixture either
by adjusting the airflow air bypass too much, or (gasp!)
play the airflow meter spring tension. There is also
a specific procedure for adjusting the mixture on the
Turbos that many people do not know of. Setting the
closed-throttle stop screw, throttle microswitch, and
throttle pot to spec is all vital to insure a stable
idle and correct timing advance under all conditions.
A clean boost electrovalve and return hose are vital
for attaining high boost pressure. I've also seen that
the slightest intake leaks can cause a noticeable drop
in boost pressure.
What I'm trying to say is that a Turbo tuned to Peugeot's
spec in every detail will yeild a very quick car.
