If it's oil dripping onto something hot, its probably not the head gasket, there
are two
oil passages in the head gasket, the pressurized one is on the right and the
return is on
the left (seen from the back of the car), both are on the exhaust side.
It sounds like it's just the valve cover gasket, which shouldn't be so difficult
to tighten up or replace.
