Are you guys being a little obsessive here?

I have taken a lot of driveshafts out, and I have never seen a dry one or a
scored journal. Of course, I have never seen rear splines like Geo Nunez'
either (fabulous pix on his website), so I'm not saying it can't happen,
but I personally wouldn't lie awake nights wondering if my driveshaft
needed greasing.

How about it from anyone who has seen a scored driveshaft journal, or
others who have seen worn rear splines? I have seen many worn front
splines on sedans, especially V6s, but greasing doesn't seem to be the
problem there.
