I picked up the alternator at the Post Office to-day. It was date stamped
USPS at Red Bluff CA Jan12th and at local Canadian Customs on the 18th.
That is a pretty reasonable time window, and better than I had anticipated
for a parcel post delivery. If there was any hitch at all, it was that
Canadian Customs charged me tax on the value at which you had it insured,
i.e. $100 US, That translates to $152.88 Cnd. Dollar wise it was no big
deal. However on the basis of the way Customs evaluated this order, you
might want to consider keeping insured values as low as reasonably possible
on future orders to Canada.
The alternator looks in good shape and should certainly spruce up my 85
505T. I am currently using a scavenged non stock alternator which is just
not up to keeping the battery at full charge under short hop, city driving
conditions, during the peak of the AC season. I hope this one will solve
that problem. There are #'s enscribed on the alternator you shipped. They
read, 12v 175. Do you think the 175 represents maximum amperage output?
In summary, I am a satisfied customer, who will look to you as a future
source for used parts unavailable locally, and I am prepared to provide
testimonials if requested.
