Yes it is beautiful at Cherry Blossom Festival time
Yes the weather can be nice, rainy, not the usual stifling DC sultriness
yet.
Yes traffic WILL BE horrible in and around the Tidal Basin area
Ergo, as a former resident and Beltway bandit with close ties to the MD/DC
area (my Dad was a DC cop and Mom was a PBX operator for C&P TelCo), may I
respectfully suggest a meeting place outside of the District?
Maybe a METRO Station Park and Ride Lot in the burbs?
If you have never driven in that area at that time of the year, you will
really get your eyes opened! For those of you have have ever crossed the
14th St Bridge at rush hour, or tried to merge from 495/270 across the Cabin
John Bridge into N. VA, you can appreciate my gentle caution. And getting
lost in a traffic circle in DC? You don't want to even think about it!
