Howard,
The Caterham 7 is the modern-day version of the Lotus 7 which
has been in production since the 1950's. In 1973, Colin Chapman,
founder of Lotus, sold all the production tooling to Caterham Cars.
Production of the 7 continues to this day.
In Britain, the 7 is sold either in kit form or can be purchased
completely built. Engines available are a Ford four cylender motor
or a Rover V-8. There is an American importer who sells them in
kit form, but I can't remember the name of it.
