I was able to identify the source of the rattling noise that I was hearing.
For those of you pointed to the exhaust...thanks.

On the rear of the car (87 505 V6) there is a rubber busing of sorts that
attaches to the differential. This holds part of the exhaust in place. The
top piece had separated from the rubber. The design of this part is poor and
I have to fabricate a solution by drilling a hole through the middle of the
rubber block and cutting some metal to sandwich it. Works great now.

I also put back into place my original unmodified cat converter. I had been
running a modified unit since last August. I decided that it was not worth
it.
I did however come to these conclusions.

1. A high-flow cat really does wonders for the PRV between 40-100+ MPH.
2. The sound is more throaty.

however,

1. My gas mileage when down. (possibly due to a lead foot)
2. More blinking error lights... (more than likely old spark plug wires)
3. Exhaust a little too loud for the car's image.
4. No change in "perceived" engine temperature. (my hope was that it would
run cooler in the summer)

For those of you with V6,Turbo,or Mi16's a high flow cat is a good move if
its performance your after...just make sure you buy one thats purpose made.
