Ben Waite here :)
Hey Jim, I'd like to participate in One Lap if my plans with my wagon fall
through (likely I think). However I'd need to get some driver's schools
under my belt first. I've never done race stuff before. Sponsorship should
be easy enough to get given the time frame. I know that Michelin is a
sponsor of the whole thing (all cars must run with Michelin rubber but at a
32% discount from Tire Rack!).
Carlisle Poll--due to lack of respondants I am axing the sign up sheet. I
strongly suggest that we all be prepared for rain and as per Renato's
suggestion, we should bring something to share, food, drink, etc. Finger
food is all I'd suggest, maybe once there we can order pizza or something?
The Xenon bulb discussion: I talked to a gentleman who runs a speciality
shop in GA, (can't remember the name of the place for the life of me). He
sells Cibie lights and whatnot for BMW's. We talked about those Xenon gas
bulbs, I think he said they're pretty good for what they are though they're
not nearly as good as true Xenon. He mentioned a couple of other variety of
bulbs though that are good. I'm trying to source the gold halogen bulbs I
have (I've been blackballed from the folks I orginally ordered them
from--basically I complained twice in a row about bulbs they sent for my
BMW). I like the gold bulbs the best...so far! =)
How does anyone feel about some friendly challenge to the folks from the BMW
CCA? Tug of war or a pie eating contest type thing?--at Carlisle btw.
