Re: Stopping rust for good!

How about POR-15? I've seen this advertised in Hemmings by Bill Hirsch (a
company that makes convertible tops and seat covers). Never used it, but they
make some pretty large claims as to its rust-fighting power. It seems to be
some sort of paint mixed with what appears to be a resin material (???). You
paint it over rusted metal, and they claim it stops rust for good, and dries to
a hard coating that is completely chip proof. In fact, they claim that if you
are not careful to keep the POR-15 from spilling over the rim of the can, then
when you reseal the tin it will literally 'weld' itself shut. Anyway, anyone
ever use it? Could POR stand for 'Peugeot of Rust?' Coincidence?
