You know Rob, you are right. That must have been what I was thinking of - I
don't think Mercury had anything to do with the Mi16, it was the ZR1. Now that
is an odd connection to make.
But I do know that Stihl was definitely involved. In fact, I think it is even
cast into the valve cover. Any Mi16 owners out there who can verify this?

I don't know about any Mercury Marine involvement with Peugeot, but they have
done this kind of contract work before: they did the castings and assembled
the Lotus-designed, limited-production ZR-1 32-valve quad-cam aluminum V8 for
the Corvette.
