I think that it took them a few years to realize that they were losing
replacementl sales to their more widely available and cheaper competition,
because you could buy any refill for your Bosch blade, so they quietly
withdrew the Microedge II. M.I refills are much more of a pain to install
than M.II refills, and hard to find, so Bosch gets to sell whole blades, on
which they make more money.
I zealously guard the M.II blades I have, so I can use universal refills in
them.
