Back in the mid 1970s when I was a wee lad (well, actually a teenager) I
often drove my mother's Peugeot 504, a 1972 model with the 1796 cc motor.
Not even two liters. From what I remember, the car was slow off the line,
but once you got it above 50 mph, it was deceptive; it would creep up to 70,
75 or so without you knowing it.
In many ways the 504 is still my favorite Peugeot. I always loved the
styling of the thing. Very elegant.
