Actualy Eagle Premier is designed and built by AMC/Renault.

"The Eagle Premier was not a Renault derived vehicle but designed by
AMC/Renault. The body was a fresh design by Design Guliaro of Italy. The
interior was AMC designed with the exception of the turn signal flipper
which was Renault. The engine is a 3.0 liter Peugot/Renault/ Volvo (PRV)
design also found in Delorian"

I am not sure where the engine is built but they are designed by
Peugeot/Renault/Volve. I have a 87 STX and a long block 3.0L PRV out of 89
Premier sitting in my garage. Every thing looks similar except oil pan and
counter balance thing on Peugeot unit. On the block of Premier one, it
says "Made in France By PRV".

One day, I am going to put the 3.0 short block with STX heads and put it
into 87 505 STX. It should give 10 to 15hp more horses. Someday...
