paint for engine block

I just picked up the xd3t block from the machine shop. The idler pulley
bolt broke inside so I had my friend Jose the machinist extract it
professionally. I also asked him to dip the block to completely clean
it up. The old cast iron block now looks completely unrecognizeable. I
noted that the outside is bare metal and already showing rust. I don't
know how they came from the factory, but I would feel beter if I could
throw in some black or dark blue paint on the outside. Is there a
particular type of block paint that's beter than others? thanks
