First of all, as it's the first time I write since we "moved", thanks Radu for the smooth transfer !
Has anyone experienced the following with their N9TE 505 SW (mine's an '86) (or other engine) ?
If yes, please share tips !
Here it is : car runs fine in every-day driving, including on the highway if I stick to around 3000 rpm / 80 mph. I'm sure I could go round the globe at this pace. But if I go at a higher speed (say, 100 mph), thus nearing 4000 rpm, then after a few minutes engine will begin missing, loose power, and show black smoke at the exhaust !?!
Slow down to c.80 mph, and normal engine behavior progressively returns, and I can get home, however far away, like nothing happened, provided I keep avoiding the 4000rpm "hazard zone". Frustrating for a 6000+ rpm engine !
Any similar experience, someone ? or ideas (throttle switch, injectors , ...) ?
