Let's try ANYONE but SEARS to check out charging system / battery.
I took my 504 there as it wasn't charging, wondered if it was oxidized
battery as the fault, or worn alternator.
They said it was the battery, and to buy a new one.
It was the alternator, I found out, after the battery was put in and they
locked up the shop.
(About $120 for a diesel rated battery.)
I got the last laugh, though.
Since the alternator was dead, I just drove off the battery only (recharging
it at night), and kept trading it in every year for a brand new one when it
failed to take any more charge.
