Help,

Q1: I need to find an exhaust manifold gasket for my 85 505 STI. That is the
tinned plate that rests between the head and the passive air device. Brian,
Lew?

Q2: I seem to be suffering from a sticky lifter, the valves have been set.
I'm still suffering from a disconcerting misfire, along with a dose of
preignition - pinging, well more of a rattle. I've:

* swapped the plug wires
* new plugs - Bosch Platinum
* cap and rotor are in reasonable shape
* replaced the injectors
* replaced the coil
* swapped out the module
* swapped out the fuel distributor and air flow meter (The car sat up
and barked after that set of updates....)

* Rebuilt the air intake (again - breathes real well now...)
* replaced the fuel pump (which appears to have been used in every VW
evermade....)

It has been suggested that I use some engine oil treatment (a la Slick 50,
I've a bottle of something else, though the name escapes me at the moment.)
to see if that helps to free up the lifter.

Any suggestions vis-a-vis the oil treatment???

Joe,

I'm still working my way through the 'electronic' aspect of it. Best guess
is that it is behaving properly. Though I've some final testing to do.

Thanks
