On my project car (renault) on of the motor mounts is getting "jiggly" on
the side. It is on the end only, and the rest is hard.
A somewhat strange illustration would be the the hard part is like pecorino
romano, and the jiggly part is like room temperature Velveeta. (I don't know
why cheese came to mind)
The jiggly part has oil or some petroleum residue on it.
Besides cleaning the thing off, what can I do to prevent further
deterioration(besides fix any leaks), and if possible return the rubber to a
harder consistency?
