I owned 2 505's prior to my 504. The 1st 505 I rear-ended an 80's Ford
Taurus (or the other car that looks just like) at probably 10-15mph.
There was tons of stop-and-go traffic on a side street, so I wasn't
moving that fast. The front grille and both sets of headlamps and the
surround were destroyed. The hood crumpled under and bowed up in the
first 1/3 of it. And, the driver's quarter panel bent inward just
before the wheelwell. It was about $2500 to fix. Then, last year, some
dude in a Jeep Cherokee backed into my perfect 505 doing the same
damage, but worse. It pushed the radiator up against the engine block
preventing my car from running. The insurance company totalled it. So,
I have absolutely no faith in front end safety with 505's. They're too
flimsy even at slow speeds. I couldn't imagine damage or injury at real
driving speeds.
