504 Alternator alternatives

I have a couple of 504's that, about every two years, require the
installation of new alternators. I have been going to a place that rebuilds
them, but I was hoping for more than 2 years per alternator. Is there either
a source for good new ones or good rebuilt ones out there in the world? If
so, how much does a new, or properly rebuilt one cost and how can I go about
obtaining one?
