I had intermittent operation of the power mirror switch and the clock,
and both were caused by hairline cracks where the spade connectors are
soldered to the board. Watch out when you wiggle the plugs to get them
off,.... but if the device becomes flaky afterwards at least we know
where to look.
Also, the miror switch,(70 bucks) can be taken apart, this was
great, because it allowed me to solder in new bulbs, and fabricate
a new spring and a couple of dog bones that were missing after the
thing was pulled apart by a hanging door panel. ( from a door stop
replacement)
Feels good to make something from scratch, have it work, and save 70 bucks!
