106 GTI oil leak(?)

My new 106 GTI (NFX engine) seems to run low on oil very quickly
(approximately 0.5 litres/1,000 km). There are no oil leaks in the
engine compartment, and no HCs are traceable in the exhaust analysis
test. Also, everything else seems to work just fine (i.e. temperatures
are normal and the engine is performing extremely well). The car's
mileage is currently 9,000 km and the oil has been changed three times
(using Shell 15W-50 Semi-synth). Is that normal? Is that extinction of
the oil quantity attributable to the run-in period of the car?
