try a dremel tool with cut-off wheel and see if you can't get two
straight edges at opposite ends of the stripped bolt head. then use a
regular crescent wrench or one of those fancy robogrip pliers to get it
off. Also, I believe any of those tool trucks (snapon, mac, matco)
carry a special tool for stripped bolts that micht work although I have
never tried it. good luck.

The check/top-off plug of the manual tranny on my 405 S has been
completely stripped do to the soft metal used and some unknown idiot LOF
guy in the past. It is almost completely rounded off and I have tried
vice grips and the whole works with no luck. Everything seems to just
twist more and more metal. The plug itself is almost impossible to gain
access to when the bolt is in good shape and now, I seam to be genuinly
screwed! The only thing I can think of is to try and hacksaw a grove into
it for a screw driver. Is there a better way anyone can think of? I'll
happily replace the darn thing with a new shiny one once it's out.
