I did before!! sorry!! hehe... when I did clean it and I didn't notice the
fans coming on to high, I got soooooo scared, and I didn't want to blow a
head gasket again!! and when it did get to 190 I got scared... so I
disconnected the plug and let it run continuous. but finally I got pissed
because when this happend, I couldn't use the AC and I had plugged it back in
and the fans were still running, so I gave in when I had time and actually
cleaned it real real good, with a steel brush and brake clean. so alright!!!
so I guess if it passes 190 it'll go onto high? see I didn't know that it
would go all the way to 190. scary thought, that's kinda high. but then again
it's a "Peugeot" as they mock me... but I tell them all the time yer never
going to find a funner car and be as exclusive and not so common like all
those Hondas! for the price I got it at.... ;-) buy cheap and run
expensive, not buy expensive and run expensive as some one said earlier. ;-)
Thanks you guys

<< Jeff,
It only took two months to take our advice and clean the contacts in that
connector for the temp sensor for cooling fans?
The system is functioning normally, and despite your claim that the fans are
not coming on, they are, each at 1/2 speed, so you don't hear the
overpowering whine of both fans at full speed. How else would you explain
thermal regulation to 190 or less degrees f?
>>
<<Hi Jeff,
The 405's fan circuit has two speeds, so perhaps what has happenned is that
previouslyt, when your fan was always on, it was on the higher (and much more
noticeable) speed. And now that it is working properly (we assume), when it
gets to 190, it probably turns on the lower speed, which is less noticeable
(ie,
not as loud). Perhaps a better way to tell if it goes on or not would be to
take off the front grille (two 10mm bolts on the engine compartment header,
two
phillips screws on either inner side of the headlights) and watch the fans for
any 'action' as the engine warms up.
