Re: 406 coupe road test

I'm about to visit my friendly local Peugeot dealer (I could even walk,
it's a few hundreds meters from my appartment), in order to test drive -
and so far, in all likelihood, to order - said coupe mentioned in the
subject line.

I understand that my request won't be extremely popular, but has anyone
on this list something extremely bad to say about the 406 coupe V6,
something that I should know before signing on the dotted line for a
34k$ to 38k$ amount. Of course, if anyone owns one, I'd like to hear
about it, too.

Regarding the competition, the Volvo C70 and the BMW 328Ci are
competitive pricewise with the 406 if you select a "lesser" engine
(i.e., you will not get circa 194hp at the same price as Peugeot's),
more so the Mercedes Benz CLK 200 (besides, the MBZ dealer told me that
the CLK, as a "prestige" model, has its production deliberately limited
by DC, and that he could sell only one per month, adding that an August
order would be delivered in June 2000...). The Alfa Romeo GTV V6 (I
assume the 3.0 V6 24v, no the 2.0 V6 turbo) is a much closer competitor
(almost same price as a loaded 406 coupe, but 225hp rather than 194.
Hmmm).

Regards,
