1. 5 speed transmission. Simple. check the linkage rods behind the
gear box. Replace them as needed. There are about 2-3 linkage rods
with plastic bushings at the end and they wear out over the age.
2. Not sure the recall is expired but I do have a very clear used one
or a brand new in sealed box. And i can also get you the horizontal
chrome pieces for the grill.
3. I have a working 405 speedometer for sale.
4. There is a very good pruduct called.... sorry forgot the name but
it's a professional vinyl spray paint (comes in a spray can in 40
colors) used by body shop and upholstery shops. Only sold in the pro
body shop supply stores. PPG also has a line of vinyl paint but you
need a spray guy for that.
5. There are many things that can go wrong with the belt. Defective
door microswith will make the seatbelt goes back and forth like crazy
even if you didn't open the door. Dead ECU located in under the seat
will make the total system dead so that might be the case of yours.
Swap them out with other side and see. Also the dead motor. and
finaly there is a sensor at the track that tells the ecu the position
of the belt, open or closed and that can also confuse the ecu. In
either case, I have all the parts available for sale.
and the sponge brakes, 405 is little tricky to bleed the brake
system, so be sure to do it all four conners on the leveled surface.
Also if your car has an ABS, disconnect the power cable going into
the ABS module before doing the bleeding or you will never be able to
get the air out of the system.
good luck.
