Philip:
Fair question and one that I think is a classical risk management question.
My view is that it is not worth the risk to squeeze a few more miles out of
a tire, if it means blow out, skidding into someone or off the road. At best
inconvenience, at worst deadly. OK, it may not happen, but IMHO, the
potential severity must be weighed more heavily than the probability. Do I
want to be on the side of the road somewhere changing a tire at night? No -
my old tires will have useful life on them when they come off next week, but
some one else can see how much.
Thanks to all who have responded so quickly to my related question.
Mike
