Jim, this is a Peugeot BA10/5. While I was exploring the Buick
option, I discovered that this particular BA10/5 has problems when
eager CJ owners put extra tall tires on the jeep which increases the
torsional load. Aparently, this trans and bell housing assembly can
swapped for a tougher Borg-Warner unit with the option of using a bell
housing adapter to Buick 3.8, Chev small block which is the same as
the 4.3litre v6. These adapters will also fit the Jeep BA10/5 bell
housing.
The only real difference is the tail section, the jeep uses a drive
shaft and universal joints and the pug uses the torque tube.
All parts a available at "Advance Adapters" find their web page.
Happy New Year
Kevin
Dont even think about putting a Buick into your Pug!
