I was talking to a customer at the Olds Jeep dealer
where I work.He was getting a new fuel pump for his
1995 Grand Cherokee. The price plus installation was
$742.00.Now I ask you a car that uses a $500 dollar
fuel pump should last forever shouldn't it?If a fuel
pump manufacturer has the balls to charge such an
outrageous price for a simple mechanism then it better
be bullet proof in my humble opinion. You can easily
dump $4000.00 down in repairs on the Grand Cherokee
when it gets past 130,000 miles.I see the Grand
Cherokee as the Jaguar of SUVS.It's a Black hole to
put your money into and the parts are outrageously
expensive. After reading the service bills as I do
regularly, I feel justified in saying that the Peugeot
parts are right in line price wise and if their were
enough garages and mechanics to service them it would
do well in North America.People do need to know that
they can have their cars worked on therfore a serious
comeback by PSA in the North America will have to be
total comittment to customers who go out on a limb to
own their products. Sorry for the rambling but I saw
too much money being spent at our dealership today for
components that shouldn't wear out so damn soon .
Enuff already,
Chris Lord
