I've used a number of leather preservatives over the years and still prefer
"Hide Food", originally concocted to preserve Conally leather seats in
English cars. Hide Food does a very good job of keeping the leather soft and
pliable and, importantly, since you put it on with your hands (my preference)
or a small applicator you can control where the product goes. You'll notice
on some leather preservative products that they tell you not to get the
product on the stitching, which in the case of spray bottle applicators is
hard to do. If the product (at least in some cases) gets on the stitching it
will cause deterioration. How many times have you seen good leather seats
where the only problem is that the stitching has given out in certain areas?

Regarding the exterior I like Collinite wax (specifically the Marque
D'Elegance); it's a paste wax with a high carnauba content, which lasts
longer than most. I've tried Zymol and think the Collinite is just as good,
regarding the shine, but outlasts Zymol and costs less. The Collinite is
only a wax, i.e., not a polish. If your finish needs to be polished (surface
oxidation removed), I like Imperial Hand Glaze the best. You will get a
perfectly smooth, unoxidized finish which should then be coated with the
Collinite. Another nice thing about the Collinite (as with any product that
is just wax, i.e., no cleaners) is that it will not leave unsightly white
stains on the rubber molding around the windshield, door protectors, etc.
