Don't forget that a lot of Bosch parts are in fact made in France. Besides,
the parts will be under warranty for a while at least. The transmissions
are being built in a joint venture with PSA/ Renault so hopefully we will be
seeing the end of the German stranglehold on some components. The other
problem goes back to who holds the patents on individual components so there
is licencing agreements in place which prevent companies copying technology
and sometimes the holder of the patent has an iron grip on it's use. From
what I've seen of the diesel injection pumps from Bosch, they are nearly
bullet proof if you keep them clean.
