I hate this job! It had to be done as STI can't go to Dr. next week
loooking like she is sick! This is the same Lion that got whalloped
in the rear by a horse last week! Yes, it was a Mustang. How do I
know? Well my wife didn't, but the "M" was imprinted in the Lions
rear end (bumper) so it was impossible to miss it! So, now this Loin
has an appointment with Dr. adjuster. My wife said the chrome trim
was ok, but let's face it, those chrome strips are not designed to
last as long as the she Lion! So off they came and the temperature
outside was about 57 degrees F. Next, with a tinners acid brush, I
used GOOFOFF to remove the terrible glue that is used to hold these
things on. After brushing on the Goofoff, I used a screwdriver and
pushed the flat blade along the groove to peel off the glue. And I
had to put goofoff on more that once to get it all off! Huge
improvement in Lion's ego! Next I went for those gutter trims! A
little patience and careful use of my Schrade tool (pliers) got them
off. BY THE WAY, THAT SCHRADE TOOL IS TERRIFIC. TAKE IT EVERYWHERE
I GO. YOU CAN GET IT AT HOME DEPOT. AND YES I CAN BRAKE THOSE
LEATHERMAN PLIERS WITH ABOUT ONE SQUEEZE ON THE RIGHT DAY. BUT I
CHALLENGE YOU TO BREAK A SHRADE!! I have wiped one out by wearing
out the pivot pin! But they gave me another one without any
question. And don't mention a SOG! Broke those like match sticks
and they don't want to hear from me again. You can give one to your
wife because she is probably not strong enough to break it. But you
better get a strong one!
