This has happened on both of my Peugeots in the past. My first thought was, "learn to drive with your Tac, ala NASCAR," which is what I did for several years. :)
I didn't have time to mess with mine, so I took it to my friendly local Peugeot mechanic (Revolution Motors --- excellent place) and he fixed it along with a myriad of other small problems I was having.
