It is very possible that your ride is running a bit rich, especially
if the AFM has never been super-cleaned before. How's your primer
pump doing? You should hear it humming inside the tank... If your
*main* pump makes an unholy scratching noise, it means that your
primer pump has taken a dump and there is too much load on the main
pump.
Maybe your tank is always low at night when the temp is cool and the
air is denser... Turbo engines love this!
Or maybe your boost pressure is too low, and the engine is therefore
producing less torque than it should (which is important when you
have 7.0:1 compression). The added weight of fuel affects the
performance more dramatically than it should, therefore an emptier
tank makes the car quicker...
I'm just kinda "stabbing in the dark" here... :P
For real though, these cars can feel moody sometimes. They seem to be
very sensitive to air density and the like.
