Fuel Filter Change

Easy way to stay relatively dry changing the fuel filter on a 505 would
be to take an old shop rag and place it bundled up around the hose
coming from the tank. Then take some Vise-Grips and gently clamp them
onto the hose. Voila! Very little residual gas leakage. You mostly just
have to deal with the gas in the filter.
I know the hoses can become a bit old and worn and brittle but if you do
this method carefully I don't anticipate any problems. I've done this a
couple times.
