When Jaguar, Mercedes, BMW, and Alfa aficionados asked heads of those companies or their representatives questions about models being available, or their line being available in the United States, a reply that I often heard was, "Are you prepared to give me your check for $$$?"

Perhaps the Peugeot heads and reps know that your answers would not be yeses accompanied by the reaching for checkbooks as it was for Jaguar, Mercedes, BMW and Alfa types. Therefore the Peugeot officials do not ask the $$$$ question and instead reply with unresponsive answers.

Not only does Peugeot have a bad reputation in the United States; so do Peugeot owners when it comes to paying the going price for the cars, parts and repairs.

Check me out on this. Peugeot types do not have a good commercial reputation. Why should Peugeot tell them anything at all? They will not be Peugeot's market, a very good thing for Peugeot if it does return.

    Bernie
