    I think that could be a likely scenario with "negative offset" front
    suspensions, particularly on cars running a fair bit of caster. If
    I'm not mistaken, VW/Audi was the first to use this design, and it's
    supposed to allow one to retain control of a car if one of the front
    tires blows out at speed. I imagine it could have a similar effect
    upon a car at speed with a disconnected tie rod end (sounds like
    fun!).
