I would recommend spending the $$$ and keeping your existing ATE ABS
system.
I feel that the ATE abs system in the 505 is one of the finest ever
produced.
I have used systems on the Land Rover Discovery (Wabco)-crap
Chevy 2500 pickup-crap
Buick Century-crap
The 505's ABS system is better engineered to stop on bumpy roads.
I have almost crashed twice slowing down from a reasonable speed, due to
the fact that the final 10 feet of road was extremely bumpy. The ABS
system in the Chevy truck detected severe wheel spin and activated the
anti-lock. I damn near rear-ended a 7 series BMW!!
I never had the same problem under the same circumstances on the same
road with the 505.
Most units today use a typical brake booster with the ABS system
attached to the master-cylinder. The ATE(Teves) system is in integrated
unit, not some after thought add on like GM would engineer.
The only other systems that I have tried and liked were the systems on
the VW Passat and Audi A4. (chances are the same) The BMW 3 series is
also nice.
With anything else I would rather take my chances engaging the parking
brake!!!
