Peugeot '92 SW8 Intermittent Heat

    Hello,
    My wagon has been getting intermittent heat, particularly when the
    weather isn't that cold. The valve is open (heat is on) with no
    voltage to the switch (wire disconnected). I was told that in case of
    a malfunction, the default setting is heat on, but what's happening
    now disproves that.
    I switched the dashboard control: no effect. Is there a heater ECU?
    Somehow the valve is getting voltage. Could it be the ambient
    temperature sensor on the dash?
    Naturally, thanks for any suggestions or further info.
