A most excellent idea, Bill. In this way we could eliminate the type
of back n' forth 'flaming' of which you speak (and which I've recently
participated in due to lack of any other avenue). This sort of
thing will surely rear its ugly head in the future, too, since we do
lack such a feedback system.
Right now posting bad experiences to the list is about the only way to
inform list members about bad experiences. And I agree it's not
pretty, but after failing to rectify a situation satisfactorily in
private, it's naturally going to happen. I've seen it on here before
and I'm sure we'll see it again in the future.
However, I really like your idea. I hope something is pursued in that
direction by the list administrators. There are so many on this list
that do sell parts that it's in the best interest of all to have such
a system. Not only for buyers, but the sellers too. And if 99% of the
people end up having great recommendations, so be it! At least
everyone will also be aware of the other 1% and not have to suffer
through the back n' forth flaming (of which I'm not proud, but felt
had to be done).
