Jim, I rememeber that quote from a Peugeot brochure. It was accompanied by a
photo of some horse and buggy-looking vehicle that had a little platform on
the back. I thought at the time that calling it a "stattion wagon" was
really stretching it.
That being said, a Peugeot wagon is the best. I loved seeing the 404 wagon
photos posted. My first Peugeot was a 65 404 (L edition, apparently) in that
pale blue. A lovely car, body by Pininfarinia. Beaautiful classic shape
even today.
Like every Peugeot I've owned, it was a nightmare due to lack of car by
prior owners...............

Subject: First Station Wagon
"Peugeot was very proud of a history that America ignored. The second
oldest automobile manufacturer in the world and, after General Motors and
Ford, the next largest, it built the word's first station wagon, first
compact and then, in 1922, the world's first diesel car. "
So, who can find specifics or better yet a picture of that first wagon?
