    Well almost the entire list responded to this thread ! We are all nuts. For 15 years I used an
    American brake adjuster tool jammed into that oil drain plug. Then it got so chewed up that I
    couldn't remove it. Finally last year I bought a Craftsman 1/2" long Hex key. It's a perfect fit
    ! That is for my 85 Gas Turbo.

    For my 87 STI, surprise! I use the same tool as Joe G. I took a Stanley nail set tool and filed
    it to size, and then use an adjustable wrench for it.

    CC, I got 8 years on you and I also am still crawling under both cars to change oil. I must be a
    real nut !!
