I have also swapped the standard H4 units with biode lights on my
euro A/C fitted 505 GTI (ZJDL). There are 2 versions of the biode,
one with a yellow ballon over the H1 bulb, other without. I have the
yellow one.
The hard part is to get the H1 bulb holder, else you'll have to use a
piece of solid wire to hold the bulb in place (like I did).
Fitting was piece of cake, I'm sure N9T's are different, but then
again, the biode were standard equipment on almost all N9Txxs and
ZN3Js.
I wired them so they light up when I turn on the rear fog lights.
